SR2018 No 1: Specified Generator, Tranche B Low Risk, Base Load Operation Between 0 to 5 MWth, Update 26/02/26

The Environment Agency (EA) has made several updates to the guidance on the standard rules and generic risk assessment for tranche B specified generator for base load operation:

  • New conditions for decarbonisation readiness have been added.

  • Hydrogen has been added as a new fuel type with corresponding criteria and ELVs including for blends with natural gas.

  • Marine Conservation Zone under the meaning of protected habitats has been added.

  • References to TGN5 have been replaced and MCERTS monitoring as an option included.

  • There have been various updates to the interpretation section to improve understanding.
