The CAA has published a proposed Airworthiness Directive requiring inspections and built-in testing of certain Techtest personal locator beacons (PLBs) and emergency locator transmitters (ELTs) after reports of battery depletion, to ensure the equipment remains serviceable and functions correctly in an emergency.
This PAD closes for consultation on 19 August 2026.
