OPRED and DESNZ have published a scoping report for a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of a draft plan to enable future leasing and licensing for offshore renewable energy, offshore gas, and carbon dioxide and hydrogen storage, as well as transitional energy arrangements for oil and gas.
The report invites consultation bodies and stakeholders to provide feedback on the key environmental issues and the level of detail to be covered in the final SEA Environmental Report, with all responses to be reviewed, addressed where appropriate, and published at the end of the scoping stage.
This consultation close on 6 March 2026.
