OPRED and the MMO are seeking information from developers and operators planning impulsive noise-generating activities that could affect the Southern North Sea Special Area of Conservation (SNS SAC) between 1 April and 30 September 2027. The request covers activities including piling, UXO clearance, explosive activities and geophysical surveys, with information required on the timing, location, duration, affected area and proposed noise mitigation.
Submissions should be made using the provided forms by 25 September 2026, to help regulators assess potential cumulative underwater noise disturbance and determine whether coordinated management measures are needed.
