The NSTA has updated its approach to Cessation of Production (CoP) reporting, replacing the previous process retired in November 2022 with a more formal notification framework for licensees.
The revised guidance now introduces clearer reporting requirements, including a mandatory notification to the NSTA within 14 days of CoP by email to copnotification@nstauthority.co.uk, as well as an obligation to report any material changes to planned CoP dates. The updated process also provides more detailed instructions on the information licensees must supply, including confirmation of agreement between relevant parties and consent for information sharing with HMRC where required for Transferable Tax History claims.
