SEPA has launched a consultation on proposed amendments to its UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Charging Scheme, seeking views on changes to the fees it charges operators under the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading (Scotland) Charging Scheme 2025, particularly to include maritime operators expected to join the UK ETS from 1 July 2026 and to clarify and extend how charges (including hourly rates and definitions) apply across different activities.
The consultation closes on 24 February 2026.
