The MCA has opened a second consultation on towing guidance for offshore floating structures, inviting views on a second draft Marine Guidance Note (MGN) that sets out how operators should obtain necessary MCA approvals to tow floating and partially submerged structures (e.g., for offshore renewable energy and aquaculture), clarifies existing requirements without introducing new ones, and follows feedback and changes from an earlier draft.
This consultation closes on 28 February 2026.
