The MCA has published MGN 331 (M+F) Amendment 4 as updated guidance on how the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Provision and Use of Work Equipment) Regulations 2006 (PUWER) apply to UK ships and fishing vessels, explaining shipowners’ and employers’ legal duties to ensure work equipment is suitable, safe, properly maintained, inspected and used only by trained personnel, with the Amendment updating references in the guidance.
