The Act overhauls the UK’s planning system by speeding up and simplifying how housing, infrastructure and energy projects are approved, introducing new long-term spatial planning strategies and reforms to reduce delays and costs, support delivery of government housing and infrastructure targets, and reshape how environmental and development considerations are balanced in planning decisions.
