The MCA has published MSN 1866 (M) Amendment 2, which updates the training and certification requirements for seafarers on tankers, passenger ships, vessels using low-flashpoint fuels under the IGF Code, and ships operating in polar waters – ensuring compliance with the latest international standards.
It revises and replaces the previous version of MSN 1866, aligning UK regulations under the STCW Convention with recent amendments and reflecting changes in training obligations, endorsement revalidation, and qualification requirements for crew assigned to those vessel types.
