The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has published MGN 705, which explains a general exemption which has been issued for ROUVs of 2.5m to less than 4.5m.
This MGN details which eligible vessels are enabled to operate without certification issued by the MCA, and applies to all designers, builders, owners, operators, employers, crew, masters, remote operators and certifying authorities.
This general exemption is effective from 31 December 2024.
