The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has published an EASA Emergency Airworthiness Directive for Airbus Helicopters EC 225 LP helicopters, following the discovery of a crack in the Main Rotor Hub (MRH) sleeves with Part Number (P/N) 332A31-3071-00 (also referenced as P/N 332A31307100 in AH documents). The investigation determined that the crack was caused by fatigue, originating from a significant corrosion pit in an area of the MRH sleeve with chipped paint, where surface protection had not been reapplied.
