The Offshore Major Accident Regulator (OMAR) and the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED) have published an inspection guide to provide information and guidance to all OMAR Inspectors within the Energy Division (ED) Offshore. This will support the delivery of consistent and effective inspection of duty holder arrangements to comply with established benchmarks but is particularly aimed at ED specialist inspectors.
This guide highlights key areas for inspection and provides a framework against which inspectors
can judge compliance, assign performance ratings and determine what enforcement action should
be taken concerning legislative breaches that may be found.
