The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has published this draft instrument to amend the essential safety requirements for placing UKCA-marked pressure equipment on the Great Britain market. This will allow relevant bodies based in the European Economic Area (EEA), in addition to those based in the UK, to certify pressure equipment intended to be placed on the UK market. This change aims to ease friction in supply chains, without reducing safety.
