The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Environment Agency (EA) have published guidance about how businesses and organisations can avoid causing pollution from oil and chemical storage, car washing, construction and other activities.
The changes include updating the ‘Install an oil separator’ section to say that, from 1 January 2021, it’s been a legal requirement for oil separators supplied in England, Wales and Scotland to be fitted with an automatic warning device or high level alarm.
