The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has produced several national policy statements for developers of energy projects.
The planning guidance for developers covers:
- Overarching National Policy Statement for energy (EN-1)
- National Policy Statement for natural gas electricity generating infrastructure (EN-2)
- National Policy Statement for renewable energy infrastructure (EN-3)
- National Policy Statement for natural gas supply infrastructure and gas and oil pipelines (EN-4)
- National Policy Statement for electricity networks infrastructure (EN-5)
An appraisal for sustainability has also been produced to assist the likely significant sustainability effects of developing new energy infrastructure of the types covered by the National Policy Statements for energy.
