The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) conducted a consultation seeking views on extending secondary legislation concerned with offshore oil and gas pipeline construction, using the consenting duties and powers of the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA), applying it to hydrogen pipelines.
The consultation has now concluded and the responses present the government’s intention to lay a single statutory instrument in Autumn 2023 to implement secondary legislation changes proposed in the Offshore Hydrogen Regulation Consultation.
