The Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations (EASR) came in to force in 2018 for radioactive substances activities and replaced the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (RSA).
Now that the regulations have been in force for more than four years, SEPA is seeking views on their implementation of EASR to assess if it has brought the benefits they anticipated and if there are any improvements that they can make.
EASR has only applied offshore since November 2021, so it may be difficult for those that only carry on radioactive substances activities offshore to comment at this stage, but SEPA will still welcome any views that you have.
The consultation closes on 22nd March 2023.
