Inspection of Local Aids to Navigation, by Trinity House, Merchant Shipping Act, 1995, Section 198(1)

On 9th December 2022, the Navigation Directorate at Trinity House wrote to BEIS OPRED to advise them that Trinity House is to inspect the aids to navigation on the offshore structures and wellheads and upon completion of inspections will forward them the results. Any structures positioned north of Latitude 55° 48’N in the North Sea will be inspected by the Northern Lighthouse Board for which separate arrangements will be made. The West Coast Inspections will commence on or about 12th December 2022, and consist of viewing the aids to navigation from seaward, together with any special mark and wellhead marker buoys.

Trinity House is a charity dedicated to safeguarding shipping and seafarers, providing education, support and welfare to the seafaring community with a statutory duty as a General Lighthouse Authority to deliver a reliable, efficient and cost-effective aids to navigation service for the benefit and safety of all mariners.
