BEIS OPRED has published its annual request for information of trained oil spill response relating to the Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation Convention) Regulations 1998.
Personnel with oil spill response duties must be trained appropriately with oil spill response exercises undertaken in accordance with the above Regulations and the Guidance Notes for Preparing Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPs).
The ‘Responsible Person’ under these regulations and the holder of an Oil Pollution Emergency Plan is required to provide BEIS with information regarding the status of trained oil spill response personnel as well as details of all exercises undertaken for the 2021 year.
