The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has recently published the above named guidance that is primarily aimed at ED (Energy Division) HSE Inspectors.
The inspection guide (IG) outlines an approach to the inspection of a duty holder’s arrangements with respect to audit, monitoring and review and the key areas that inspectors should consider when inspecting this topic. It is aimed specifically at major accident hazards. It sets out the criteria for satisfactory and unsatisfactory performance against which duty holder performance will be rated. References are made to technical standards and guidance that inspectors will use to form an opinion of legal compliance.
