The Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has issued new guidance on the review of flare and vent applications during the commissioning operations phases.
Under the Energy Act 1976 and the Petroleum Act 1998, operators are required to have consents in place for the flaring and venting of hydrocarbons during commissioning and production operations. These two documents provide a summary of the process involved in gaining the relevant consent from the OGA.
