MSN 1735 (M+F) Amendment 10 – Type – Approval of Marine Equipment (UK Nominated Bodies) (link)
This Merchant Shipping Notice (MSN) amends the annex to MSN 1735 (link), which lists Equipment for which no Detailed Testing Standards exist in International Instruments.
This serves to implement changes to the listing of equipment in Annex A.2 of the European Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment made by EU Commission Directive 2015/559/EU. The changes apply where no detailed internationally agreed testing standard exists. Equipment listed in the amended Annex A.2. will continue to be type approved by the UK’s Nominated Bodies until international standards are agreed and the products are transferred to Annex A.1 of the Marine Equipment Directive and into MSN 1734 (M+F).
It also updates the United Kingdom’s designated Nominated Body contact list.
