CD278 – HSE Consultation on the Freight Containers (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations 2016
This consultation invites views on HSE’s proposals to amend the Freight Containers (Safety Convention) Regulations 1984 (link). The proposed changes give effect to the amendments made to the International Convention for Safe Containers 1972 and introduce changes to the Safety Approval Plate and additional safety tests. The proposed new regulations will be known as Freight Containers (Safety Convention) (Amended) Regulations 2016.
The amendments introduce significant physical changes to the Safety Approval Plates on freight containers and additional safety tests. The draft 2016 Regulations are included in the consultation. The full consultation can be viewed here.
