Draft Guidance on The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (link)
This draft guidance document has been issued by HSE in advance of the new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), which will come into force on 6 April 2015. The guidance is being published in draft form in order to help anyone who has duties under the Regulations to prepare in advance.
The key changes in the new Regulations are as follows:
– The replacement of the CDM co-ordinator role (under CDM 2007) with the principal designer.
– Increased focus on the influence and importance of the client as the head of the supply chain.
– Sections on competence have been split into its component parts of skills, knowledge, training and experience, and organisational capability
The document includes the draft regulations, although both the draft Regulations and guidance may be subject to change while the Regulations are awaiting Parliamentary approval. The final versions of both will be available on 6 April 2015.
