This Marine Guidance Note highlights the importance of the correct storage and stowage of packaged quantities of dangerous goods on board ships. Dangerous goods include chemicals, and other materials that are not cargo by virtue of their being in use and stored ready for use on board.
It also covers the requirement to carry out a risk assessment in accordance with the ship’s Safety Management System.
