CD 256 Consultation on Proposal to Consolidate and Modernise Explosives Legislation (link)
As part of its ongoing review of health and safety legislation and guidance, the HSE has opened up a consultation on proposals to consolidate and modernise the explosives legislative framework in Great Britain.
A draft statutory instrument which has been developed as part of the consolidation – referred to as the Explosives Regulations 2014 (ER 2014) – is included in the consultative document.
As part of this work, HSE is also reviewing the supporting guidance, and is proposing the withdrawal of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) to the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005 (MSER). The proposed consolidation does not dilute or substantively alter existing health, safety and security requirements in relation to regulation of explosives in Great Britain.
Responses to this consultation must reach the HSE no later than 24th September 2013.
