Consultation on Draft East Inshore and East Offshore marine plans (link)

Through the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009(MCAA), the UK Government introduced a number of measures to deliver its vision of “clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas”. These measures included providing for the introduction of a marine planning system, establishing the Secretary of State as the marine plan authority and enabling them to delegate marine planning functions.

The East Inshore and East Offshore areas are the first areas in England to be selected for marine planning. The East Inshore area includes a coastline that stretches from Flamborough Head to Felixstowe.

This consultative document seeks views on the draft version of the marine plan, the draft of which is provided here.

Comments must be received no later than 5pm on 8th October 2013.
