This HSE guidance gives practical advice on eliminating or reducing risks from using work equipment. It also summarises the main requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (link).
The guidance is primarily aimed at those who have responsibility for work equipment and its use.
This revised version includes minor changes to reflect the current position regarding the supply of new machinery, the need for care if modifying existing machinery, and safety during maintenance.
